LAMY Safari Meets JETSTREAM: Limited Edition Pen Launch
Mitsubishi Pencil will release the "LAMY safari JETSTREAM INSIDE"—a collaboration model that combines the "LAMY safari" series, handled by C. Josef Lamy GmbH headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany, with the smooth oil-based ballpoint ink of "JETSTREAM"—starting January 29, 2025, for a limited time only in select markets.

The company has formulated its long-term vision, "Aspirations for 2036," in anticipation of its 150th anniversary in 2036. As part of this initiative, in 2024, the company welcomed Lamy into its group. By combining Lamy’s renowned brand and design strengths with the company’s technological expertise, they aim to create even more innovative and appealing products.
As the first step in this collaboration, they are launching a new product in the LAMY brand lineup: a LAMY safari series model equipped with the company’s smooth-writing JETSTREAM oil-based ballpoint ink, using one of Lamy’s most popular designs.
The product will be available in seven colors—five standard LAMY safari series colors: Vista, Blue, Red, Umbra, and Yellow—along with two limited-edition colors, Dark Dusk and Sunset.

The “LAMY safari” is a long-selling series that has been loved by writing instrument enthusiasts around the world—especially younger generations—since its debut in 1980.
Its grip design features a distinctive triangular cross-section, aimed at providing ease and comfort in handling. This design makes it less tiring to use even during extended writing sessions. Additionally, the grip has slight bulges and indentations to naturally guide finger placement, enhancing writing stability and control.
The pen body is made of a lightweight, smooth-textured resin that offers excellent durability and impact resistance, making it ideal for long writing sessions and everyday use.
The metal clip, a signature element of the "LAMY safari" series, features a slightly rounded shape that prevents snagging on clothes or accessories. It boasts a simple yet sophisticated design. The clip also combines strength and flexibility, allowing it to securely attach to pockets, notebooks, and more, providing a firm and stable hold.
The newly released “JETSTREAM Refill M17” is compatible with LAMY ballpoint pens that use the existing “M16” refill. This means it can be used with LAMY ballpoint pens that customers already own. The refill is available in two popular ballpoint sizes from the JETSTREAM series: EF (0.5mm) and F (0.7mm).
