Limited Edition Kumamon Plush by San-X Coming 2025!
San-X has recently announced that it will be producing plush toys of "Kumamon," the Director of Sales and Director of Happiness for Kumamoto Prefecture.
Kumamon, who enjoys immense popularity both in Japan and overseas, will celebrate his 15th anniversary in 2025. To commemorate this milestone, San-X will produce plush toys of Kumamon. The release is scheduled to be a limited edition, available at "Kumamon Square" on Kumamon’s birthday, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 (further details will be announced later).
A collaboration video featuring Kumamon and San-X PR character Koronya has been released!
A video has been released on YouTube showing the story of how Kumamon directly appealed to Koronya—a San-X character who also serves as the company's PR representative—to propose the plush toy project, which then got underway.
Koronya commented, “I was nervous, but the shoot was a lot of fun, nya-su!”
Kumamon added, “Everyone, I hope you're looking forward to it, kumamon-style. Yoroshikuma!”
