Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release a new model of its "NAME LAND i-ma" label printer, which allows users to create labels using a smartphone or PC, on January 23, 2025. This new model, the "KL-SP100-MM," is a collaboration with the popular character "Moomin." It allows users to easily create labels featuring Moomin illustrations. The product will be sold at an open price.

94 types of emojis including "Moomin," "Little My," and "Snufkin," 36 types of frames, and 24 sample designs

The label designs include a rich variety: 94 types of emojis featuring main characters such as "Moomin," "Little My," and "Snufkin," as well as beloved side characters, 36 types of frames, and 24 sample designs that combine characters with messages. Users can create a variety of labels—such as storage labels, message labels, and name labels—using their favorite characters.

The printer supports tape widths from 3.5mm to 24mm. With 24mm tape, users can enjoy creating large character labels by combining up to four enlarged label prints. Additionally, users can make original labels by coloring paper-based craft tapes or paper tapes with colored pencils or pens.

The tape cutter features both an auto-cutter that automatically cuts the label and a half-cut function, which makes it easier to peel the label backing. The device and its packaging are designed with a Nordic aesthetic, featuring a botanical theme and characters like "Moomin," "Snufkin," "Little My," and "Hattifatteners."

About 'Moomin'

"Moomin" was created by Tove Jansson, a writer, painter, and artist. The story of Moomintroll and his friends began with the novel The Moomins and the Great Flood, published in 1945, and has since been translated and published in over 50 countries. Merchandise, attractions, and animations based on the original novels, comics, and picture books are beloved not only in the character's home country of Finland but also by many people around the world, including in Japan.
